The fabric body of a normal jacket serves as both the skin
of the garment as well as its primary load bearing structural element. When
severely loaded, the jacket distorts and can become uncomfortable, unsightly,
and possibly unwearable. S-J14 is built with an internal chassis that
separates the load bearing function of the jacket from its external face.
The internal suspension transfers the weight of the load to the wearer's skeletal
system. The jacket itself floats above the suspension. This means S-J14 can carry
multiple heavy objects (ex: 13 inch laptop) without any indication of this
in the drape of the garment on the body.
The chassis itself is a modular platform. Its patented magnetic dock allows items
to be affixed to the suspension quickly and easily, sight unseen. The suspension
can be worn without, but is intended to remain affixed to the jacket and thus hidden
from view.
